Orochimaru is one of the smartest shinobi to ever live and has made himself immortal due to his experiments. At a time like this, it would be easy for Orochimaru to overthrow anyone using his army of fake Uchiha children or use reanimation jutsu to bring back the fallen heroes. Not seeing Orochimaru at a time like this raises a lot of suspicions as he is still one of the strongest living shinobi in the Boruto timeline.
Without Kurama, Naruto has very little chakra reserve and doesn’t specialize in many jutsus, leaving him very vulnerable. At the end of the day, we don’t know what Kishimoto has in mind for Orochimaru, but we will find out soon enough when the time is right.
