Story until now 
In the last episode, we see our trio of First years went to investigate and possibly subjugate and Special Grade Curse Womb. Although nothing ends up going our trio’s way and they end up in a one-sided battle against a Special Grade Curse.
Itadori being the absolute badass he is remains unfazed for the most part and gets both of his classmates to escape. After they escape, he released Sukkuna who proceeds to totally wreck the other curse. After Sukuna asks Itadori to take back control of his body, Sukkuna finds out he is no longer capable of controlling him and lets out a menacing smile.

After Itadori loses control of his body because of the injuries he suffered, Sukkuna uses this opportunity to go after Megumin. Although Itadori manages to control his body just before Sukkuna could kill Megumin he ends up dying because of the strain and his injuries.
